School-based behavioral health services

School-based therapy is a comprehensive program that brings professional counseling services directly to students within their academic environment. Recognizing the profound impact that emotional, behavioral, and social challenges can have on a child’s success in school and at home, this program provides onsite access to licensed therapists who are dedicated to supporting the holistic well-being of each student.
Through individualized and family counseling, risk assessments, and other specialized interventions, the school-based therapy team works to address a wide range of issues that students may be facing. This can include, but is not limited to, difficulties with:
  • Academic performance and motivation
  • Peer relationships and social skills
  • Anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns
  • Trauma, grief, or family challenges
  • Substance abuse and risky behaviors
By delivering these essential services directly within the school setting, students and their families can access the support they need in a familiar, convenient, and stigma-free environment. This not only fosters improved outcomes for the individual, but also enhances the overall academic and social-emotional climate of the school community.

Children spend most of their waking hours in school. When emotional or behavioral problems get in the way of learning, Renaissance is there to provide the support they need to succeed.

  • Individual and group therapy
  • Family counseling
  • Medication Management
  • Risk assessments, as needed (suicidal or homicidal)
  • Case Management

Our RBH staff members are credentialed to provide services based on their degree and knowledge in social work, counseling, or psychology. These creative professionals’ partner with teachers, school administrators and parents to develop individualized treatment plans and behavioral interventions for students.

Our program also includes home visits, teacher consultations, and individual and family counseling. When a therapist identifies a need that goes beyond the scope of the school environment, the child may be referred to receive other Renaissance programs or community services, in addition to their School-Based therapy.

Through a collaborative, evidence-based approach, the school-based therapy program empowers students to overcome obstacles, develop healthy coping strategies, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom. This holistic investment in student well-being is a crucial component of comprehensive educational success.
